Tonight we do the same stuff again. But not really! More different. More better. And more coming. And more mustard! Finally. Noah Page loves mustard.
Freakolafat and Damian Tweedy dropped by. Two guys who like Gorillaz, eating food. You already know. These are some guys we first met on Black Liquid’s show last week. Noah Page enjoyed their rapping so much he invited them back for his own program. Freako got dealt a rough hand in “Can you rap to that?” but handled it well.
And of course, a riveting performance by The Few. He sang, played keys for us. It was great. The Few is really a dude. Playing that keyboard. Singing. Gosh. We were floating. If you’d seen us, we were. Literally. Guys, I really hoped he’d do “Crazy”, secretly. The way I usually hope for most things. The only way to hope for anything on this secret show. And he did!
The Kultural Kameleon was there! For a second. Honestly, I was a little embarrassed for this master artisan of the radio to watch how Noah Page paints with a super soaker. It’s crazy. It’s weird. It’s whatever. But what are you gonna do?
Also Sanji and the rapper named This() and Vos and everybody. Sanji’s beats tonight. Vos killed Ayla Nereo’s “The Course”. We thought he had it with “Goodbye Stranger” last week. He outdid himself tonight. It was wild.
Vos had a big announcement! He’ll be stepping up to the microphone with some light hosting duties over the next few weeks as Noah Page heads into the sound room to control the live band. Or learn to. Jay, a mainstay at WRIR, and Princess Beet Farmer, our wonderful host of Friday’s Breakfast Blend, will be teaching him. And he will learn. Or die. NO! Not die. Learn or be learned to? Learn or else! Maybe he’ll also get a few beets out of it. Or learn to farm himself. You never know!
What a crew. What a team. Who can wait to meet the band next week? What will happen? More chaos? LESS chaos? Both? Someone make me a sandwich. I’m sleepy now.
