WRIR’s Fall 2018 Fund Drive is now underway — we’re working to raise $40,000 by Wednesday October 24 to power independent community radio in Richmond for another six months. In today’s world, nothing is more empowering than having direct access to the media. All you have to do is look at the President of the United States, shake your head, and you’ll know that what I’m saying is the truth.
Richmond Independent Radio gives you and people like you the kind of access that used to be available only to the rich, the powerful, and those who were willing to carry water for the rich and powerful. If you have a message to get out to Richmond, WRIR is the place to do it. And if you know someone with a message, we’re probably the people who are amplifying it. That’s what people powered media is about.
Financially, we’re people powered as well. We don’t have deep-pocketed advertisers or donors — we have you. The overwhelming majority of Richmond Independent Radio’s $149,000 annual budget comes from folks like you …

For the first time ever, Mighty Joshua plays live on Global A Go-Go Wednesday October 17 between 3 and 5 PM, bringing you his conscious nyabinghi drum sounds and encouraging you to donate to independent, community radio in Richmond.
