WHERE RADIO IS REALLY REAL!! On Friday’s edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, host Don Harrison talks with members of a new citizen group, Richmond For All, which is standing up against Mayor Levar Stoney’s Coliseum development plan. Brionna Nomi, Kristin Reed, and Art Burton speak about why their coalition has called for a thorough vetting of this huge proposal, and detail their concerns about the plan’s rollout and secretive details. And then our own Krysti Albus and Allison Bennett Dyche tell listeners all about the Where Radio is Real program, an ART 180 initiative created with WRIR where middle school students learn all about radio production. You can hear the students’ work in a special exhibit at Art180, running through Jan. 17, titled “Telling Stories Through Radio in Fulton.” And we also have another exciting edition of Curtain Call, our bi-weekly look at the Richmond theater scene produced by the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle. This week, Jerry Williams previews the world premiere of “Roger B. Heard and the Tight 45” at HATTheatre by talking with James Nygren, the show’s director, and Dale G.
