Global A Go-Go presents:
DJ Otto JD, here, subbing in for an indisposed Bill Lupoletti. We kick-off the WRIR Spring Fund Drive on Global A Go-Go today with eclectic music and a live in studio performance from AnDa Union. The band hails from Inner Mongolia, China and features 9 musicians playing traditional music on Mongolian instruments (we are excited to talk about the Horse Head Fiddles and BHorse Head bass they pay). AnDa Union is part of a Mongolian musical movement that is finding inspiration in old and forgotten songs which have all but disappeared as a result of China’s recent tumultuous past. Their work digs deep into the different styles of both Inner and Outer Mongolian music.
Besides this wonderful band, I also will have my old friend and Co-DJ Josh Bearman in the studio, shaking the can for the Fund Drive. Josh and I hope to raise 2,000 dollars during this Global A Go-Go show.
Bill can’t be here this afternoon for the show, but he is listening. So let’s do him proud and put our money where our ears are every week at this time, listening to Global A Go-Go.
Otto Out.
