Open Source RVA presents:

BAKING CHEESES AND BREAKING LEASES! On Friday’s edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, our Open Face food segment returns as Piet E Jones talks with the mighty Jason Alley, chef and co-owner of popular local eateries Comfort, Pasture and Bingo. They speak about the highs and lows of owning a Richmond restaurant, the notion of making nostalgic food that makes people feel good, and how Jason has become known as “Pimento Cheese Guy,” among other topics. And where are the trees? Host Don Harrison speaks with activist Todd Woodson about the “Terminate the Lease” rally happening on Friday at 4PM. The rally is designed to speak out against the city’s relationship with the private Monroe Park Conservancy and its recent controversial park renovation. ALL OF THAT PLUS Melissa Vaughn grapples with a startlingly efficient Richmond City Council (that also inexplicably hates renters) on another exciting RVA Dirt Quick and Dirty Council Roundup. IT’S AN EPISODE THAT FEATURES A DISCUSSION OF MAYONNAISE CAKE! Don’t miss it Friday at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and http://wrir.org.
