CATCH US IF YOU CAN!! On Friday’s high flying edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, we give you the lowdown on next week’s FLYING SAUCER INVASION! Relax. It’s a good thing. Richmond is slated to host the 2019 World Overall Flying Disc Championships July 8-13, and event organizer and longtime Frisbee champion Jack Cooksey tells host Don Harrison all about the exciting, multi-day competition, slated to attract ace aerialists from across the globe to Striker Park – West Creek, Forest Hill Park, Huguenot Park, Byrant Park and Vcu Cary Street Field. Jack also talks about the past, present and future of flying discs sports, and why Virginia has always been a prime Frisbee destination. We also feature another splashy edition of Curtain Call, produced by the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle. This week, critics Jerry Williams, Susie Hirsch Haubenstock, Julinda D. Lewis and Rich Griset review two big summer musicals — “The Wiz” (at Virginia Repertory Theatre) and “Grey Gardens” (at Richmond Triangle Players at the Robert B. Moss Theatre). IT’S A SOARING SOURCE! Grab it with both ears on Friday at noon on WRIR 97.3 fm Richmond Independent Radio and http://wrir.org.
