ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28 AND 29, FROM 9:30AM TO 5PM, HEAD ON DOWN TO THE SCIENCE MUSEUM OF VIRGINIA. SEE WHAT KINDS OF THINGS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS OF ALL AGES ARE LEARNING ABOUT BY CHECKING OUT THEIR AWESOME SCIENCE FAIR EXPERIMENTS.

Join fellow art lovers at Art Space on Friday, March 25, 2011, 7:00 – 10:00 pm for the opening reception of artspace'slatest shows featuring three new exhibitions.  VCU Craft/Material Studies will hold their Senior Show in the Main Gallery.  Christie Blizard's exhibition is called "The Sound Wave Project" and Geraldine Kiefer's is "Archipelagic Encounters." This event is free and open to the public.

 

 

PaulReisler, founder of the Kid Pan Alley children's songwriting project, will bring his talents as songwriter, composer, and performer to seven classes at Margaret M.Pierce Elementary School in Remington, VA, fromMarch 21-25, 2011 for an intergenerational songwriting residency. Lynchburg-based singer/songwriter Paddy Doughertywill join Reisler for the workshops and concert. Seniors from Fauquier Senior Center will visit the school on Monday, March 21 to tell one class about life growing up. Each class and the seniors will work with Reisler and Dougherty in two 45-minute sessions during the week to brainstorm ideas and a melody for a song they will perform together in a free concert for the community onFriday, March 25 at 7:00 pm at Pierce Elementary at 12074 James Madison Street (Rt. 15N), Remington, Virginia  22734.
