WRIR’s Spring Fund Drive Starts Friday, April 29th

On April 29th at 5 pm, WRIR-LP’s kicks off its 2011 Spring Fund Drive. The pledge drive will continue through Sunday May 9 and feature several live music performances in WRIR’s West Broad Street studios and in the community. The WRIR spring 2011 campaign will also benefit community partner ART 180, a Richmond non-profit creating and providing art-related programs for young people living in challenging circumstances. ART 180 “gives young people the chance to express themselves through art, and to share their stories with others.”

You don’t have to wait until the Fund Drive to donate, you can donate now. You will receive an extra thank-you gift for your donation.

Right now a WRIR volunteer is in the studio, behind the mic, creating community radio in the heart of Richmond. For the past six years, every hour of each day.  And why do your friends, neighbors, community leaders volunteer at WRIR-LP 97.3 FM? Because Richmond needs a radio station that represents the creativity and diversity in this city.

Listener donations of $45 or more are encouraged, and contributions of any amount are welcome. A  listener-designed WRIR T shirt is offered as a thank-you gift for a donation of $45. At the $200 level, contributors receive two T-shirts, a WRIR carabiner, provide promotional support for ART 180.
