While temperatures in the city keep soaring, cool off with some chilled grooves on Midnight Soulstice. On tonight's show, our host DJ Pari will take you back to the early and mid-1990s, when Hip Hop and Jazz mingled and had a great run together that lastet about five years. The motto then: "You have to know Blue Note to dig Def Jam," and it could not be more true. Many progressive Hip Hop artists paid their respects to Jazz by incorporating samples by the Jazz greats and some even collaborated with the legends directly. Enjoy this trip back through time when Hip Hop was, as we believe, at its greatest. Throw some Nu-Jazz tracks in the mix, and you have a show to remember.
