Thursday, December 8 – "Drummer, Grant Hart" – Gene Pembleton

Growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota, Grant Hart inherited his older brother’s drum set and records, and played in bands as a teenager.
He is best known as the drummer and co-songwriter for the legendary alternative rock and hardcore punk band, Hursker Du.
Hart formed the band in 1979 with Greg Norton and Bob Mould, whom he’d met while working in a record store.
Hart was known as the hippie of the group – drumming with long hair and bare feet.
While on tour, his boyfriends often accompany him.
Hart has created all the visuals for the band’s record covers, including “New Day Rising” and “Candy Apple Grey,” earning the band artistic accolades.
After the band’s breakup in 1987, Hart formed The Swallows, then Nova Mob. Then, he went solo with his guitar.
