Midnight Soulstice presents: Remembering James Brown presents:
Most of us will never forget where we were when we got the news that the Godfather of Soul James Brown had died on Christmas Day five years ago. On tonight's Midnight Soulstice, we have invited several of James Brown's closest associates and friends to talk about their own feelings on that day and share some of their memories of Soulbrother #1 – including Fred Wesley (band leader of the legendary J.B.'s), Martha High (lead backing vocalist of 30 years), Clyde Stubblefield (the original Funky Drummer), Sharon Jones (of the Dap-Kings) and James Brown's personal manager Charles Bobbit. As usual, Mr. Felty and DJ Pari will be filling the remaining airtime with exquisite music selections, this time focusing on Brown's lesser known releases from the 1960s. Don't miss this show – it's a must for every fan of Soul and Funk.
