Lost Music Saloon: August 12, 2013: 5-7 p.m.: Elvis! presents:
Welcome to a special edition of the Lost Music Saloon. Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977. Tonight I'll take a look back at a relatively unknown portion of Elvis Presley's musical career – – his stint at the famous Stax studios in Memphis, Tennessee in the 70's. I'll be airing a one-hour radio special, 'Elvis At Stax' from about 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. tonight. It's a music-intensive look back at that period of of his career, featuring interviews with many of the folks who were there. Whether you're an Elvis fan, or a Stax label fan, or just a casual music fan, it's an interesting look inside those sessions.
I'll surround that special with songs about Elvis done by a wide variety of artists.
Enjoy!
