MEALS TAXES, TRASH AND BEAUTIFUL MUSIC! On today’s Open Source RVA, noon on WRIR, we talk with author Clay Blancett about “Avenue of Champions,” his new autobiographical novel about living, and working as a trash collector, in Richmond. We also welcome violinist Alana Carithers and bassoonist Tom Schneider of the Atlantic Chamber Ensemble. This standout group of young professional chamber music players — many of them also play in the Richmond Symphony — will present a special chamber music concert on March 4th at the Unity of Bon Air. We’ll also have a freshly prepared Quick and Dirty City Council Roundup — meals tax hikes, anyone? — brought to you by Melissa Vaughn and Jessee Perry of RVA Dirt.
