Paul’s Boutique / Due Diligence presents:
Today’s show is a tribute show of sorts to Glen Snoddy, and more specifically the fuzz tone. Snoddy was engineering a Marty Robbins session in 1961, when a faulty mixing board connection caused bassist Grady Martin’s part to come out heavily distorted. They elected to keep the surprising thick, fuzzy, almost otherwordly bass part and subsequently Snoddy was able to recreate the sound to help develop the first commercially available fuzz pedal, the Maestro FZ-1 Fuzz Tone. The Rolling Stones released Satisfaction in 1965 with Keith Richards’ fuzzy lead, and there you be.
Two hours of fuzzy treats in the Boutique today – psych, blues, R+B, glam, garage, stoner rock, post-rock, etc. Get those lint rollers out and step inside… 11am-1pm!
