Open Source RVA presents:

A SOURCE FOR SORE EARS!! On today’s Open Source RVA, we are joined by Claire Guthrie Gastanaga, the exective director of the ACLU of Virginia, who talks about Trump / GOP immigration policies, including the separating of immigrant children from their parents. She details what concerned citizens can do, and highlights the differences between the Trump administration’s new policies and those of President Obama’s. And you say you want an Evolution? Don also welcomes Kathy Spangler. executive director of the American Evolution 2019 Commemoration, a state-wide initiative set to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Virginia with events which highlight the diversity of the original Jamestown colony… and the nation (there’s also a cool new Virginia History Trails app to get you ready). BUT THAT’S NOT ALL! Here at home, our public school kids need supplies. Making sure Richmond students have what they need is a top priority for some parents, like RPS mom Cindy L. Anderson, who talks to co-host Dina Weinstein about Operation Toilet Paper, a parent-led initative that provides necessary — sometimes VERY necessary — supplies to the kids during the school year. GET AN EARFUL OF THE SOURCE! Open Source RVA is broadcast at noon on WRIR 97.3 fm Richmond Independent Radio and http://www.wrir.org.
