Open Source RVA presents:

WISE WORDS AND HOMEGROWN MUSIC! On Friday’s Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, host Don Harrison talks with Chelsea Higgs Wise, journalist, activist and host of WRIR’s “Women and Politics,” about fostering meaningful dialogue in River City, the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, this weekend’s March for Black Women in D.C., and lots more. And Alabama and Rhode Island have state music halls of fame, why not Virginia? Richmond magazine arts editor Craig Belcher comes in to discuss the magazine’s September cover spread that he and Don wrote about a potential Virginia Music Hall of Fame and Museum. What would such a place look like, and which indigenous musical heroes should be honored? All of that PLUS Melissa Vaughn and Francesca Leigh Davis of RVA Dirt give us a gavel-pounding, smoke detector-advising installment of the Quick and Dirty Council Roundup. (Oh, and special guest star Otto Konrad as “Mr. Chairman.”) SCRIBBLE ON NAPKINS WITH THIS SOURCE!! Open Source RVA is heard Friday noon on WRIR 97.3 fm Richmond Independent Radio and http://www.wrir.org. (Illustration: Bob Scott / Richmond Magazine)
