Open Source RVA February 22, 2019 presents:

A SOURCE FOR SORE EARS!! On Friday’s edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, host Don Harrison speaks with Kenda Sutton EL, Nikiya Ellis and NyTasha Stevens of Birth in Color RVA, a group of birth workers helping to stop discrimination in reproductive health care, and bringing what they call ‘birth equity’ to communities of color. Our own Krysti Albus also welcomes filmmakers Andee Arches and Cameron Kit Robinson. They talk about the Sister Radio Documentary project, a long-distance collaboration between two independent radio stations from sister cities, RVA’s own WRIR and Radio Sikora in Ségou, Mali. All of THAT plus another exciting installment of Curtain Call, our bi-weekly look at the theatre scene, produced by the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle. This week, Jerry Williams, Julinda D. Lewis, Claire Boswelll and Rich Griset review Virginia Repertory Theatre’s “Once” and CAtheatre’s “Becky’s New Car,” and interview friend-of-the-Source Pamela Archer-Shaw about upcoming productions at The Heritage Ensemble Theatre Company. GET WITH THE PROGRAM! Listen to the Source on Friday at noon on WRIR 97.3 fm Richmond Independent Radio and http://wrir.org.
