Open Source RVA presents:

A MOST COLORFUL SOURCE!! On Friday’s action-packed edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, we talk about the 1st annual Richmond Indie Comic Expo (RICE), happening at Virginia Commonwealth University’s James Branch Cabell Library on Sunday. Artists and Expo organizers Thea Cheuk and Liz McCown drop by to give listeners the lowdown on the event, which showcases both new comic art and practical information for illustrators and comic creators. We also have a brand new episode of Curtain Call, our bi-weekly look at the city’s thriving theatre scene, produced by the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle. This week, critics Julinda D. Lewis, Rich Griset and Jerry Williams review Cadence Theatre Company/Virginia Repertory Theatre’s “13” and “Lombardi” at Firehouse Theatre. And get ready to yell and growl! The Nov. 12 meeting of Richmond City Council was quite the heated spectacle, so we also have a particularly rancorous installment of the Quick and Dirty Council Roundup, courtesy of Melissa Vaughn of RVA Dirt. All of that PLUS Leo Frunck makes a return appearance to the Source. He’s the guy who plays Aaron Burr on “The Aaron Burr Goodtime Variety Hour” (as he reminds us, over and over and over). IT’S QUITE THE SOURCE!! Get with it at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and http://wrir.org.
