The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit/Nighttime Maneuvers presents:

Hey Listeners,

I’m back after missing the show a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to Zak for filling in for me. I was not comfortable broadcasting live in the studio, but thanks to our incredible operations team, the station has developed a couple of alternatives for DJs to host their show remotely.

Tonight’s program was pre-recorded – last night and with the help of remote Board Operators it will air tonight in my regular time slot. There is also an option for a remote live broadcast right from your home that I plan to try in two weeks. Some DJs are still doing their shows live and I applaud them, but I am glad I have the opportunity to share music with listeners in a completely safe setting.

For the last month I have been on lockdown at home. Reading a lot. Listening to lots of music. Binge watching. Watching cool movies and documentaries. Anyway all of that provides great inspiration and long lists of ideas for shows. So tonight’s Man in the Gray Flannel Suit program will feature the tunes / movies / books / shows that have been keeping me company (and sane).

Tonight’s show will also feature some music from some artists that we lost recently – either to COVID-19 or some other disease. The fist set will feature some John Prine tracks – including a cover by one of my fraternity brothers and a track – a duet with Swamp Dogg from his most recent release.

We’ll also play some from The Band (just watched Once We Were Brothers), Bill Withers, Wilco (just finished Tweedy’s autobiography), some goofy tunes from Jeremey Renner and The Tiger King, Ellis Marsalis, Fountains of Wayne and new music from The Secret Sisters and the Black Lips. It’s a full plate – come feast.
