Consistent fantasy is reality
Gaye Su Akyol’s most recent album is entitled Consistent Fantasy Is Reality (or Istkrarli Hayal Hakikattir in the original Turkish). She’s saying that we have to dream into action the reality we want to live. Or you could flip the notion over and use it as a slogan for, let’s say, Fox News.
Either way, it’s a hell of a good title. You’ll hear Akyol this week in a set of Turkish psychedelic-tinged music from the past and present, all with a kind of science-fiction feel to it.
