Open Source RVA presents:

SOURCE TIME! On Friday’s hairy edition of Open Source RVA, Mike Kemetic welcomes activist and music teacher Beth Almore (pictured), the unofficial curator of Marcus David Peters Circle, and the author of an new open letter to Alex Nyerges of the VMFA Virginia Museum of Fine Arts about the museum’s oversight of the state-funded Reimagining Monument Avenue initiative. She tells us why community input is important to the project. We also debate the contract renewal of Richmond Public Schools superintendent Jason Kamras by talking with Kamras supporter Thad Williamson of the University of Richmond, and one of his critics, Willie Hilliard, a member of the mayor’s Education Compact. THAT’S NOT ALL! There’s also a graceful but firm edition of the Quick and Dirty Council Roundup, hosted by Melissa Vaughn of RVA Dirt. AND HOLD ON TO YOUR CHINNY-CHIN-CHINS! We also unveil host Don Harrison’s new fundraiser for Feed More, the Central Virginia food bank. Should he lose his beard, or retain it? DETERMINE THE FUTURE OF DON’S FACE WITH YOUR DOLLARS by going to https://fundly.com/don-s-beard-shave-or-keep. Friday noon on WRIR 97.3 fm Richmond Independent Radio and wrir.org.
