Lost Music Saloon presents:

Something a little different happens in the Saloon today. The artist known as Prince (RIP), and then ‘Formerly Known As Prince’, isn’t among the artists that spring immediately to mind when thinking about an ‘alt-country/Americana/country-rock/modern folk & indie singer-songwriters’ musical mongrel of a radio show like the Lost Music Saloon. But there’s a rich vein of Prince covers out there that fall easily into those categories. I’ll visit some of my faves as the surrounding backdrop around a brand new one-hour radio special featuring an upcoming Prince album (‘Welcome 2 America’) taken from a vault’s worth of music that Prince never released during his lifetime.

Over the next hour, you’ll go deep on “The Story of Welcome 2 America,” a political and poignant album that Prince recorded in 2010 but didn’t release. You’re going to hear from the people who worked closely with Prince during his ‘Welcome 2 America’ era — including his bandmates, his manager, and his close friend Dr. Cornel West.
