We have a lively and revealing conversation with Lorna Wyckoff, the founder of Style Weekly, which ceased publication last week after 39 Years. She tells us about creating the magazine DIY-style, and offers her thoughts on its heady tenure as Richmond’s premier alt-weekly. We also speak with Lorraine Wright, executive director of I Vote For Me and co-chair of the Dignity in Schools Coordinating Committee. She is among a group of school advocates speaking out against the Richmond School Board’s decision to continue the school’s memorandum of understanding with the Richmond Police Department. She explains why she feels increased police presence in our public schools is bad for students . We also have a brand new installment of Curtain Call, produced by the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle. This week, Julinda Lewis and Jerry Williams review “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” (Swift Creek Mill), and speak with Heather Miles, Artistic Director of the Broken Leg Theatre Company.
