The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit / Time Again Radio Show presents:
Hey Listeners,
Tonight’s show will feature tracks from 3 lesser-known labels. I chose these 3 because each – for a different reason – landed on my radar screen. A couple of weeks ago while selecting some girl group tracks for the Ronnie Spector set I wanted to include I was listening to a Red Bird compilation and thought it would be a good focus of the show. Around the same time I ran across an article about Harvest Records. It was prog-rock label from the late 60s and 70s and the article had a list of 10 great tracks on the label. Well I love music lists and they got on the show schedule.
Finally I was involved in a little music quiz and Bert Berns was was the answer to the only question I missed. So I started checking his career out and was of course already familiar with Van’s Bang recordings and there you had it – label # 3 for tonight’s show. I’ll talk more about each label as we get into the show. But some cool tracks. Keep it tuned here.
