Open Source RVA presents:

BOOKS AND BARGAINING! On Friday’s studious edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, Don Harrison welcomes Ward Teftt, the former owner of Chop Suey Books and one of the organizers behind the John Waters: False Negative live event at the Byrd on Sunday. This special charity show by Baltimore’s finest film director will benefit the Byrd Foundation, the Virginia Children’s Book Festival and, yes, WRIR. Ward talks about the big show, as well as the art of bookselling in Richmond, the fate of Won Ton the cat, and his own future publishing plans. And then Dina Weinstein welcomes education advocates to speak  about the historic vote by Richmond Public Schools employees to hold collective bargaining. Joining us will be Katina Harris, Richmond Education Association president, Darrell Turner, Richmond Education Association vice-president, Boaz Young-El, Uniserv Director for the Richmond Education Association and Virginia Education Association Organizer Amanda Kail. GET SOURCED! Friday at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and wrir.org.
