Open Source RVA presents:

C’MON IN! THE SOURCE IS FINE! On Friday’s splashy Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, we talk about the renovation, expansion and grand reopening of the Virginia Museum of History & Culture with Joseph Rogers, the museum’s Manager of Partnership and Community Engagement. Among other things, Dina Weinstein asks Rogers to outline what’s new for patrons in this expansion, and how the museum is handling the telling of the difficult parts of Virginia’s history. THEN Don Harrison welcomes filmmakers Justin “Saw” Black, Will Gemma and Dietrich Teschner to talk about their documentary, “Headwaters Down,” which is screening at the Byrd Theatre on June 8 as part of the Richmond International Film Festival. This unique environmental film takes viewers on an informative — if hair-raising — trip down the James River. AND THEN Don calls on a trio of visiting paranormal “experts” to liven up this week’s outro and the results are mixed. (Why won’t Krysti just admit that WRIR is haunted?!!)  Friday noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and wrir.org.
