Open Source RVA presents:

YOUR SOURCE FOR PERCOLATIN’! On Friday’s impeccably dressed edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, we talk about Saturday’s benefit at Castleburg Brewery and Taproom for the one and only Doug Dobey. The style-setting graphic designer and punk rock fashion plate suffered a stroke in April, leaving him with a mountain of bills and an impaired left arm. It’s Time for Da Perculator – A Benefit for Doug Dobey will bring together a raucous lineup of bands (like Beex, L’Amour deux, Really Big Good Guys, X-Suckas and more), and a diverse array of area artists and illustrators selling images, with all proceeds from the event going to Dobey’s care. On this special episode of the Source, Don Harrison talks with the man himself, about, among other things, his injury and his varied career in Richmond designing flyers, album covers, logos, restaurant menus and magazines. THEN we welcome members of “Doug’s Army” — daughter Harper Lee Dobey, David Lewis, Page Hayes and Kelly Alder — who are helping to organize the big benefit and Doug’s new Go Fund Me page. IT’S ONE FOR DA PERCULATOR, Friday at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and wrir.org. (Photo: Harper Dobey)
