Open Source RVA presents:

SOURCING WITH STYLE!! On Friday’s exciting SEASON FINALE of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, we talk with Style Weekly’s Brent Baldwin and Scott Elmquist. Style, Richmond’s venerable alternative weekly, has been revived by VPM as an online publication (found at style weekly.com). I talk to the editor and photographer about everything from Style’s possible return to a print edition to the excellent work being done by its freelancer staff (ahem, full disclosure) to the fate of much-anticipated special issues like Top 40 Under 40. We also welcome back John Mitchell, one of the community leaders working to restore Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond’s historic African-American burial place. The non-profit Enrichmond Foundation, which was overseeing the restoration, recently announced that it was dissolving. What does that mean for the future of Evergreen, and where did the grant money go? ALL OF THAT AND Melissa Vaughn talks collective bargaining and smoke detectors on a brand new RVA Dirt Quick & Dirty Council Roundup. THEN WE TAKE OFF OUR HEADPHONES AND JUMP INTO THE SURF! Friday at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and wrir.org.
