Banji Kaicho presents:
A thriller involving multiple parties of mediums but in the fashion of Bergman-esque relationship voyeurism? There you get Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s 2001 horror classic <Séance>. Terrifying subcontext and textbook camera work aside, this movie’s sound design really reached outrageous level – I was well shocked by how many clues buried in the audio track when listening back intensively to it. Given additional music by The Gerogerigegege, Jun Konagaya, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Tatsuya Nakatani, 7FO and Yosuke Yamashita today, it feels inevitable that a special radio screening of this personal Japanese horror favorite, is evolving from unknown darkness via airwave to descend upon WRIR LP 97.3FM Richmond, at 1pm, on Banji Kaicho. Shh Shh, She’s here…
