Open Source RVA presents:

ART FOR SOURCE’S SAKE!! On Friday’s provocative edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, we welcome Dominic Willsdon, the executive director of the Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU. The associate professor of arts education talks with Don Harrison about the ICA’s first five years as Richmond’s modern art showplace, and what the future holds for the institution, which consistently programs challenging artists and installations, and spurs debate. Among other things, he teases a major announcement for the ICA happening later in June. THEN Dina Weinstein talks to media historian and University of Virginia professor Aniko Bodroghkozy about her new book on UVA Press, “Making #Charlottesville: Media from Civil Rights to Unite the Right” which examines the struggle against white supremacy and antisemitism in Virginia. She’ll be appearing at Beth El Synagogue on Sunday to talk about the book. IT’S A SOURCE TO REMEMBER! Listen to Richmond’s audio news digest every Friday at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and wrir.org.
