Open Source RVA presents:
THE SOURCE IS ON! On Friday’s wide angle, generously-portioned edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, we talk about the 2023 Richmond International Film Festival with festival founder and producer Heather Waters. The six-day avalanche of movies, music and culture begins on Tuesday, Sept. 26 and will feature nearly 200 films on screens across the city. Waters tells me which movies we can’t miss, and also talks about the expanded musical offerings happening on stage. THEN Dina Weinstein welcomes Trey Owens, owner of Soul Taco and JewFro. He talks about his recent trip to Israel, funded through the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, a culinary exchange that he says will greatly influence the food he makes. AND the Source’s intrepid correspondent Goad Gatsby is back, reporting on how redistricting is already shaping the new Virginia General Assembly. GET SOME SOURCE! Today’s eye-grabbing, and delicious, episode can be heard Friday noon on WRIR 97.3 FM Richmond Independent Radio and wrir.org. (-w/ Krysti Albus and Chuck Moore)
