Dream Girl Radio / EXT SRC presents:
For today’s show I’m revisiting one of my favorite styles of electronic jazz, broken beat; a diverse blend of different genres and styles from early aughts West London, born out of admiration for the likes of 70’s-era Herbie Hancock and George Duke, combined with the traditions of jungle, house, hip-hop, dub and more over African and Latin-inspired polyrhythms.
Initially I wanted to dig deeper and find tracks and artists that I wasn’t familiar with. And I did! But I couldn’t help but throw in some classics and old favorites as well. Enjoy!
