The Cheats Movement on WRIR, hosted by Marc Cheatham & Gigi Broadway: 1st & 3rd Tuesday at 11:00 AM

Marc (Cheats) Cheatham is at the intersection of hip hop culture, politics and community activity.  He’s been documenting Richmond’s hip hop culture since 2011 on his blog The Cheats Movement.

In politics, Cheats is Senator Tim Kaine’s Director of Constituent Services and Casework, based here in Richmond.  And as an activist, he and artist Noah Scalin are marketing the New Legacy Hoodie and Tee, apparel bearing the image of the Lee Monument with Lee (and Traveler) removed, witrh proceeds benefitting the Richmond Peace Education Center.

Cheats has been a frequent guest on WRIR’s Open Source RVA, and now he’s developed his own program.  He and co-host Gigi Broadway, another mainstay of Richmond’s hip hop scene, discuss the topics on the day and important issues affecting our Richmond’s community and our nation.  They offer sharp, insightful and often hilarious commentary on news and politics through the lens of two hip hop culture heads.  The show is quick-hitting and witty, with the goal of uplifting positive human interest stories that local news normally omits.

The Cheats Movement is active on social media: on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
