"Good Morning Richmond" were the first spoken words to go over the FM airwaves for a music show on WRIR on January 1, 2004 at 9AM. The first show was the British Breakfast and the first song ever played was "Around The Dial" by The Kinks. The show is hosted by Richmond local Gene Pembleton and Mancunian transplant Carmen James. We bring a unique blend of UK and UK related music spanning six decades and any genre - all British and all hand picked with love. The British Breakfast places emphasis on new and unsigned UK acts mixed in with older but often lesser known tracks from both obscure and popular bands and we use mostly vinyl and CD's.This show has played thousands of new UK bands since it's inception and that's not going to change! Each host doesn't know what the others playlist is going to be beforehand and we play off each other, taking turns. Amazingly, this format works! Probably because we've got mystical chemistry. We're thankful for this opportunity to share our passion with the wider community at this amazing station and will continue to bring you the most eclectic yet accessible show every week!
