Future Shock presents:
Hey Listeners,
It's the midway point and I thought it might be nice to do a "Best of So Far". The problem is there is just too much new music. It's impossible to keep up with. Alvin Toffler in the late 60's and early 70's studied this phenomenon and coined the phrase "future shock" for the state we are in when we are just overloaded with change and information. That's how I feel regarding the year's releases to date. There is just so much music it's impossible to keep up with. It's a musical overload – too much new music in too short a period.
Many thanks to JJ, Paul, Bill, and Mark and any and everyone else that is reviewing the releases, keeping the shelves updated, and providing a roadmap for the rest of the DJs to find the best of the latest releases. Tonight's playlist is not exhaustive and it is not my collection of best CDs of the year. It's simply an overview of the many great releases YTD. Fasten your seatbelt for the next 6 months.
