Open Source RVA presents:

EVERYBODY LOVES JIM!, On Friday’s special edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, Don Harrison and Sara Schmatz host part two of a special tribute to Jim Wark, the beloved musician, magazine publisher, teacher, non-profit leader and community spark plug who passed away in February. Produced by Alex Childress at the non-profit Virginia Voice, where Jim was President and CEO, this tribute spends time with many of the people who knew Jim best — Sean McClaini, Ron Moody, Bj Kocen, Craig Evans, Butch Ball, Stephen Lecky, Otto Konrad, and Scott Saunders, and connects the dots on the many sides of an amazing man. This week, we concentrate on Jim’s contributions to WRIR and the Richmond Folk Festival, and his work as guitarist and music maker in Billy and the Buttons, Janet Martin Band, Li’l Ronnie and the Blue Beats, Billy Ray Hatley and the Show Dogs, Chrome Daddy Disco, Ron Moody and the Centaurs, The Super Sugar Beats, and The Taters, who he collaborated with to write and perform Rock & Roll Jubilee stage show, CONFIDENCE IS HIGH! Listen as we raise a glass to the mighty Wark at noon on WRIR 97.3 fm Richmond Independent Radio and http://wrir.org. (Photo: Joe Sokohl))
