Open Source RVA presents:

ONE RICHMOND, ONE SOURCE! On Friday’s star-spangled edition of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, host Don Harrison has a wide-ranging conversation with Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, who’s running for reelection against strong challengers on Nov. 3. Among other things, the Mayor talks about the failure of his Navy Hill projectl, why he feels he’s fulfilled his goal to be the education mayor, and addresses the controversies surrounding Richmond’s confederate statues — including that infamous $1.8 million contract to remove them — and the recent protests against police abuses. Don also talks with 8th District City Council candidate Regie Ford,  running to unseat longtime incumbent Reva Trammell. He talks about why his district is desperate for new leadership. We also have a brand new edition of Curtain Call, produced by the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle. This week, Jerry Williams introduces Dorie Barton, one of three directors of a virtual play, “She Kills Monsters,” created for ZOOM and produced by VCUarts Theatre. IT’S 11 DAYS BEFORE ELECTION DAY SO GET YOUR SOURCE ON! (And don’t forget that the WRIR Fund Drive has just begun. Donate now to help keep us on the air).
