Open Source RVA presents:
FASHION AND TRANSPARENCY! On Friday’s Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, we talk about the color, the splendor and the wonder of RVA FASHION WEEK, which runs April 17-23 in venues across the city. Executive director and co-founder Jimmy Budd joins Don Harrison to detail all of the galas, designer showcases, youth programs and runway events planned during the week. THEN Dina Weinstein welcomes Alice Minium of OpenOversight.org, a statewide police transparency database run by a collective of volunteer researchers and journalists in Richmond and Hampton Roads. Since last year, they have obtained and published the names of over 25,000 Virginia law enforcement officers through Freedom of Information Act requests, and Minium tells us why she thinks the initiative is helping police to be open and accountable to citizens. MAY THIS SOURCE BE WITH YOU! Listen Friday at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and wrir.org
