WRIR’s Newest Show – Alternative Milestones!

From its foundations in 1960’s Garage Rock, Glam Rock, Progressive and Psychedelia through to today’s many alternative genres, the history of Alternative Music is extensive and varied.  And every week I’ll be leading a trip back into that history to celebrate the people, events and music having milestone anniversaries during that week.

It’s always a great mix of eras and genres, and my hope is that something will trigger a memory of where you were and what you were doing when that music was new.  And there’s a good chance you’ll learn something and discover some new-to-you music along the way.

In keeping with WRIR’s mission to represent the under-represented and play what nobody else will play, I’ll be digging deep into albums and artist catalogs for those hidden gems rather than going straight for those hits you can hear on other stations (although one or 2 of those might pop up sometimes).

I hope you’ll join me every Thursday afternoon from 1-3 PM
