Breakfast Blend w/ Galaxy Girl & Friends presents:

No playlists available.

It started when I heard “The Lotus Land Show” on WRIR. I had finally found a radio station that appealed to my diverse musical interests. A station with DJs bold enough to play Peruvian exotica from Yma Sumac, followed by pop from local band Hot Lava, and then throwing in a little Black Sabbath for good measure. It was magical. And I knew I had to be part of it. From “The All-Nighter” to “Galaxy Girl” to “The Thursday Breakfast Blend”, since 2008 I’ve volunteered with WRIR to help bring you musical variety that’s different from what you can find everywhere else on the dial. Please show your support for WRIR during this fund drive. The office phone lines open a little later, but you can give online anytime at www.wrir.org. Thanks, and enjoy the show!

Open Source RVA presents:

Hey, that's Tim Kaine

In April, Senator Tim Kaine visited WRIR’s studios for an exclusive interview with the hosts of Open Source RVA. Senator Kaine talked about the resolution that he wrote when he was mayor of Richmond that helped to put WRIR and low power radio on the map. And yes, they did ask about his potential nomination as vice president. You can hear the two-part interview at the show’s on soundcloud. Open Source RVA is WRIR’s weekly news show. Don hosts the show with a variety of others who talk about the city’s theater scene, restaurants and happenings.

Open Source RVA airs every Friday, 2-3 p.m. and repeats on Sunday, 7 a.m. on WRIR, 97.3FM, or listen online at http://www.wrir.org/listen and search “Open Source RVA”
