The Edge Of AmericanaWestward Ho

Josh and the Hot Seats are in week two of their midwest tour, so I am headed Westward Ho this week on the our old time radio show, the Edge of Americana. We'll be taking Route 66 through Illinois, stopping early on for a visit with my hero, the lawyer/poet Edgar Lee Masters. Then we'll hit the fiddles hard with midwestern players from Ohio and Indiana like the great Cecil Plum and Arnold Sharp. Woody Guthrie and his kid brother from Duluth will make dust bowl appearances somewhere along the road, and when we drop down to south Oklahoma, I know those  western swingers will be spilling out all over the Texas state line. Finally, if the creek don't rise, our own Josh Bearman may phone in a few requests between dodging rogue boomers and twisters along the Kansas state highways.
