Pioneering playwright and activist Doric Wilson died on May 7. His early works helped establish Caffe Cino in Greenwich Village as a mecca for offbeat theater.
Then there is Stuart Kellogg who died August 3 in Apple Valley, California at age 63. He was the editor for “The Advocate” for two years, starting in 1987. He is survived by his longtime partner, Fernando Torres.
Former Royal Ballet dancer Alexander Grant died in London on September 30. Renowned for his character roles, he also served as artistic director of the National Ballet of Canada from 1976 to 1983. He had studied dance since age seven.
And costume designer Ray Aghayan died on October 11 in Los Angeles. He was survived by his partner and fellow costume designer, Bob Mackie.
