Open Source RVA presents:

THE SOURCE AWAKENS! For the first Open Source RVA of the new year, heard Friday at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, we welcome Northside’s own Willie Hilliard who recently announced his candidacy for the 3rd District Richmond City Council seat. Among other things, he talks about the growth of Brookland Park, offers thoughts on taxes, infrastructure needs and public schools, and gives his view of Mayor Levar Stoney’s controversial “Navy Hill” plan. And with WRIR’s birthday coming up, we welcome the station’s founder, Christopher Maxwell, who talks about the future of low-power radio in Virginia, including his latest station, WRWK 93.9 The Work FM, in Midlothian. We also have a brand new Curtain Call segment, produced by the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle. This week, Jerry Williams, Julinda D. Lewis and Claire Boswell preview the most anticipated shows of the upcoming theatre season. THE SOURCE IS STRONG IN THIS ONE. Hear it on Friday at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and http://wrir.org.
