Louisiana Dance Hall presents:
A salute to the great WWOZ!
WWOZ is a New Orleans-based community radio station that is the “Guardian of the Groove” in showcasing and promoting the music, culture and heritage of New Orleans and Louisiana. WWOZ’s fund drive produces compilation CDs as limited-edition thank-you gifts sent to those who support the station. The music on these CDs is unavailable anywhere else, with rare exceptions, and I’m going to feature a number of these CDs in upcoming Louisiana Dance Hall shows here on WRIR. Today’s show is a salute to the great WWOZ, as well as an important step in fulfilling WRIR’s mission to feature under-represented music, news and views in our community.
