The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit/Nighttime Maneuvers presents:
Hey Listeners,
So one drawback of pre-recording my show is sometimes I am paying attention to the date when I settle in and start working on my show. This week I had it all finished by Saturday because I knew I was going to be on the road all day yesterday. That’s how we ended up with tonight’s very off topic show and I am probably one of the few WRIR DJs or DJs around the country that isn’t playing tunes about MLK Day or the inauguration. For that I apologize.
However, even though it’s not going be some meaningful show, the setlist is packed with some really great tracks. The name of the show really does not have much to do with that list other than the fact we will hear from a local band (some friends) that recently made a “record” as the Chilblains. I had to look the word up to figure out what it meant. Anyway it’s sort of like frostbite. Did I ever tell you about my short-lived Raynaud’s phenomenon condition….
Anyway last Sunday Helen and I tuned in for a live performance by our favorite band, The Jayhawks, on Mandolin. It was an all covers show and it was a really interesting set that included some tracks nd artists I wasn’t familiar with including tonight’s opener – Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me). I’ll use their playlist as a guide for tonight’s show. Enjoy!

P.S. I will be sure not to miss the opportunity for some shows based on upcoming holidays. I’ve got my annual Duet / Valentine’s Day planned for 2/1 and 2/15 – a Mardi Gras show. 3/1 hope to have Helen do a Best of Stu’s faves and 3/15 some kind of nod to St. Pats Day.
