Open Source RVA presents:

A JOYFUL SOURCE!! On Friday’s tune-filled installment of Open Source RVA, heard at noon on WRIR 97.3 FM, we talk with Joanne Sherman, the artistic director of the Joyful Voices Chorus, a Chesterfield-based vocal choir made up of people suffering from Alzheimer’s and Dementia and their caregivers. The former music teacher tells Dina Weinstein how group singing and harmony helps to stimulate the minds of those afflicted with debilitating mental diseases. We also welcome back the one and only PJ Sykes. The musician, photographer and founder of Cherub Records talks to Don Harrison about his label’s brand new compilation of Richmond performers, “20 Years of Cherub Records,” which includes prime selections by Hoax Hunters, Noah Page, Snowy Owls and more. FACE THE MUSIC WITH OPEN SOURCE RVA! Friday noon on WRIR 97.3 FM and wrir.rog.
