POP Goes The World! presents:

NPR did a story 10 years ago on the 20th anniversary of “Britpop”, marking the beginning of the era as Sept. 8, 1993 when Suede took home the Mercury Music Prize, Britain and Ireland’s “album of the year” award, for its self-titled debut.
While a valid argument could indeed be made for that, on this afternoon’s Pop Goes The World show I’ll do my own “Britpop” celebration playing some of my favorite Britpop tracks of the era, and also taking it back a few years to show who laid the ground work, and also extending it to see who’s currently picked up the torch.
