The Church of the Ecstatic presents:
Two shows in one? Not two peas in pod, but that’s okay!\
First up is songs used in the soundtrack for Lisa Frankenstein, which is killer! Set in 1989, pretty much all of the music is from that year or earlier, with some great alt/new wave (?) songs in particular
Highly recommend this movie, very colorful and weird and punny, a little raunchy and gory, and clever and hilarious. So many nods to film, especially 80’s teen romance, comedies, horror, and also repeated references to “A Trip to the Moon” from 1902. I dig it!
In the second half is a playlist I kept adding to throughout the week, starting off with some turn of the century clubbin’ tracks, then taking a darker turn into more rock vibes, with sinister secrets. “Zitti e Buoni” means “Quiet and Well-Behaved,” a phrase which can be used for good or bad.
