Wide Ear FolkTuesday July 27, 5-7 PM

Eric Walters, that favorite son of Plainfield, New Jersey ("The Queen City") is out of town this week, and he asked me to fill in for him.  I thought I'd take the opportunity to start the show with a few of my favorite New Jersey singer-songwriters.  Click "Read More" for more details …

By the way, did you know that many of the key members of Parliament/Funkadelic are from Plainfield, New Jersey?  Yep, George Clinton is a native of Plainfield as are Eddie Hazel, Gary Shider, and Bernie Worrell.  Sorry, but you won't hear any of them on today's show — wrong format.  You will, however, hear Willie Nelson, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Sandy Denny, Billy Bragg, Gillian Welch and James McMurtry.  None of them are from New Jersey, but all of them are fine singer-songwriters.  As for the identities of the New Jersey singer-songwriters, I'll keep them a secret until you hear 'em.
