The Stax Story Part 4 presents:

The Stax Story Part 4

We've come a long way since we started to present you the legacy of the legendary Soul label Stax Records on Midnight Soulstice. On tonight's show, our co-host DJ Pari brought a box of Stax and Volt tunes from 1967 and early 1968 – an era that marked a big turning point in the label's history when on December 10th, 1967, Otis Redding died in a plane crash in Wisconsin, along most members of his backing band, the Bar-Kays. We'll honor this great Soul singer, who was Stax's most successful artist, with a special set later into the show, including some previously unreleased live recordings. Besides that, you'll get to hear more music from other prominent Stax artists like Carla and Rufus Thomas, William Bell, Booker T. & The MG's, Eddie Floyd and less known groups like the Mad-Lads and the Charmels. Stay tuned for two hours of fantastic Memphis Soul!
